Researching Self and Others: Reflexive methods

The third module focuses on reflexivity as a critical tool to acknowledge the researcher political positioning within a delicate issue.


Discarding any erroneous attempt towards objectivity, this method instead reveals the power relations underneath societal practices have, and the role academia as well as various research institutions, corporates and government bodies play within larger mega trends.

Lesson 4

This module synthetise the interests dictating the policy agendas of political and economical groups, and that of the researcher's own political positioning within the power struggle inherent in the progress of society. This allows for an epistemological clarification of the groups active in shaping global policy. By understanding the necessities of each group, students compile and ultimately share with their audience a stratified interpretation of society and the keys on how to make sense of it.
